Taiyo’s Lekh R. Juneja chosen as IFT Fellow
June 26, 2013 – Taiyo has announced that Dr. Lekh Juneja, Executive Vice President of Taiyo Kagaku Co. Ltd. and President of Taiyo International Inc., has been awarded the 2013 IFT Fellowship by The Institute of Food Technologists for his outstanding leadership and innovative contributions in the areas of functional foods and nutraceuticals.
The IFT Fellow designation is an honor bestowed upon an IFT member by their peers, recognizing exemplary professionalism and experience for their contributions to the food science and technology field. In a given year, no more than 0.3 percent of the professional membership is eligible, and even fewer than that will earn this honor.
As a leader in the research, development, production and marketing of nutraceuticals and functional foods for the food and pharmaceutical industries, Dr. Juneja has gained an international reputation for innovation and business acumen. He has led the development of some of the firm’s preeminent award winning products like Suntheanine, Sunfiber, Sunphenon, SunActive and SunAmla. He has been credited with more than 130 patents, authored more than 175 peer-reviewed research articles and 3 books. He maintains professional relationships with management in more than 50 multinational food, health-care and cosmetic corporations. Dr. Juneja served on the Advisory Board of the IFT Nano-science Panel from 2009 to 2011.
