The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has outlined qualified health claims for cranberry supplements and the reduction of recurrent urinary tract infection (UTI) risk in healthy women. In a letter of enforcement discretion, the agency outlined, “that the current scientific evidence regarding the relationship between cranberry and recurrent UTI is appropriate for consideration of a qualified health claim on conventional foods and dietary supplements.” In addition to the existing structure/function claims that can be made when using SunCran, now products will be able to add a qualified health claim to their toolbox of marketing materials.

The FDA’s qualified health claims for cranberry dietary supplements include:

  • “Consuming 500 mg each day of cranberry dietary supplement may help reduce the risk of recurrent urinary tract infection (UTI) in healthy women. FDA has concluded that there is limited scientific evidence supporting this claim.”
  • “Limited scientific evidence shows that by consuming 500 mg each day of cranberry dietary supplement, healthy women who have had a urinary tract infection (UTI) may reduce their risk of recurrent UTI.”

SunCran is a standardized blend of two all-natural and science-backed ingredients: Taiyo’s Sunfiber soluble prebiotic guar fiber and Fruit d’Or’s cranberry juice powder. These ingredients work together to support urinary and digestive health.

SunCran’s cranberry powder has guaranteed high potency and is DNA tested for authenticity. Research has shown that SunCran’s soluble proanthocyanidins (PACs) can bind to pathogenic E. coli, which was shown to impair their ability to adhere to cell walls, reducing UTI risk. Bacteria are simply flushed out before leading to problems.*

Additional studies have shown that SunCran’s cranberry powder delivers even more impressive results in combination with Sunfiber, which serves as an all-natural carrier. In a Rutgers University human study, 85% of participants showed an anti-adhesion response in their urine after consuming SunCran. Pathogenic bacteria in the urinary tract may lead to UTIs.
